CounterCulture began as a live music venue with a restaurant, bar and open performance space. It originated with a thought to encourage and showcase alternative ideas –a thought that transformed along the way to become a versatile platform for creative pursuits.

During the five years that CC existed in its Whitefield, Bangalore location, they reached iconic status through the quality of music they hosted, with artists like Wayne Krantz, Erik Truffaz, Dana Gillespie, Shankar Mahadevan, Taufiq Qureshi, Circle of Sound, Apache Indian, Buraka Som Sistema, Jinja Safari, Big Scary, Engine Earz Experiment, Chicane, Indus Creed, Thermal And A Quarter, Parikrama, Pentagram, KK, Karsh Kale, Shaair & Func, Destruction (Germany), Rotting Christ (Greece), The Ska Vengers, Nucleya, BLOT!, State of Bengal, Raghu Dixit and John McLaughlin, just to name a few.

Upon announcing the departure from the live music venue business, CC was overwhelmed with response from the media and across social media platforms.
